Can skincare products actually eliminate pores?
Pores are part of your skin’s structure, so no skincare product can actually eliminate them. But you can make them look smaller, smoother, and less noticeable, and that’s often what people really want.
As we age, declining collagen and elasticity make pores look bigger. Dr. Aleksandra Brown talks about this in a really clear way in this chapter of her skin longevity talk. She explains why pores look larger over time and what actually helps. You can watch that part here: Managing Enlarged Pores with Age.
What you can do is focus on treatments that keep pores clear and support the skin around them so they don’t stretch and appear larger. Salicylic acid cleansers can help with oil buildup, and retinoids like our Tretinoin Face Cream Rx help with cell turnover so pores aren’t clogged and inflamed.
Here at Alloy, our M4 estriol products can also help the look of pores because they boost collagen and improve elasticity. When the surrounding skin is firmer and more hydrated, pores look tighter and less prominent. You can read more about the full M4 skincare line here: Alloy Skincare.
So no, pores can’t be erased, but with the right routine you can get them to the point where they’re barely something you notice.
