What concentration of estriol is used in some topical formulations for menopausal skin, and what outcomes are reported at that strength?
Here at Alloy, the only place we spell out an exact estriol concentration is in the M4 Eye Cream Rx, which contains 1 percent estriol. That higher concentration is designed for the very thin, delicate skin around the eyes.
At that strength, the independent 12 week clinical study showed some pretty impressive outcomes. Women saw about a 36 percent reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, around a 33 percent improvement in firmness, and about a 40 percent improvement in elasticity and eyelid crepiness. Deep hydration also improved, and blood estrogen levels stayed unchanged.
Our other M4 formulations, like the Face Cream and Face Serum, do include prescription strength estriol, but we don’t list the exact percentages publicly. You can get a sense of their results in the M4 Face Cream study, which showed up to an 88 percent improvement in elasticity and a 70 percent improvement in hydration in 12 weeks. If you want to see the details, the full report is linked on the product page: M4 Face Cream Rx clinical study.
