Transdermal estradiol may be the best choice if you have high blood pressure, are sedentary, have Type-2 Diabetes or are at high risk for developing Type-2 Diabetes, have a strong family history of heart attack or stroke, have a family history of blood clotting disorders, are over 70, are starting MHT after age 60, or are starting MHT more than 10 years after your last period. ### Can I use the spray with other forms of hormone treatment? Evamist® Estradiol Spray can safely be used alongside local hormonal treatments, like vaginal estradiol and M4. Please consult with your doctor about any other hormone treatments you are currently taking before starting treatment with Alloy. ### What is Hormone Replacement Therapy and is it safe for me? Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is the name most people know, and you may now also see it called Menopausal Hormone Treatment (MHT). The newer term was introduced to more accurately reflect what actually happens in your body during treatment. HRT/MHT isn't designed to restore your hormones to the levels they were at before menopause. Instead, the goal is simply to use the amount of hormone that adequately relieves your menopause symptoms. In a 2017 position paper, The Menopause Society stated that this treatment is safe and effective for the overwhelming majority of healthy menopausal women. Progesterone regulates the menstrual cycle and helps keep the uterine lining thin.
